Rascal Flatts - Melt
Melt is the sophomore project for Rascal Flatts. Their self-titled debut was quite successful, selling Platinum. In fact, they are one of only three groups to do this as a debut artist, the other two being the Dixie Chicks and SHeDAISY. Having said that, I have to say that Melt is just as good if not even better than their debut album. So, no sophomore slump here.
The first single from the album, "These Days," talks about a relationship that's over, but the guy just can't stop thinking about the girl, checking his answering machine to see if maybe she called, and dreaming of her nightly. If you loved "I'm Movin' On," you'll really love the soulful ballad, "I Melt." This is an awesome song co-written by Gary LeVox with Neil Thrasher and Wendell Mobley. Definite power ballad, and it's a definite single. "Mayberry" is a nostalgic look back in time. This is a lot of fun, and you get to hear a lot of those wonderful Rascal Flatts harmonies.
If you have enjoyed the music you've heard from Rascal Flatts before, you will enjoy this album as well. If you're looking for traditional country, you might want to check out Kevin Denney or Brad Martin. Rascal Flatts have great harmonies, and these songs are all really good. I enjoyed them, and hope you'll give them a try as well.
