The Lost Trailers - The Lost Trailers

BNA / Sony BMG
Bottom Line:

The Lost Trailers' self-titled album is a collection of eleven songs and was produced mostly by Blake Chancey with the exception of "Gravy," which was produced by Blake Chancey, Stokes Nielson, and Ryder Lee. Ten of the songs were written or co-written by Stokes Nielson. "All This Love" was penned by Gary Nicholson, Paul Overstreet, and Jon Randall.

"Call Me Crazy" is the first track and it is also my favorite song on the album. It is about one man's declaration of everlasting love. Even though there are many things that go along with a relationship - the most important is love. After years of being together the man says he is just as in love with her now as he was years before. In "Why Me" there are three parts of the song. An alcoholic wonders how long he has to fall before he gets back up and then he stares at the higher-ups on Capitol Hill looking down at him as they smoke their cigarettes. As they stand in their expensive suits, he wonders why they have to look down on him. The last part of the story is about a man "staring death in the face." "I'm A Country Man" is one of those songs where the artist proclaims how country he is because he's a hard worker and isn't afraid of a fight. David Lee Murphy joins in the fun on "Dixie Boy Special." If you're looking for the original recipe, then this woman is one you shouldn't miss. "You're gonna want to look but you can't touch that. Keep your hands to yourself - she's all mine."
"All This Love" finds a man wondering what he will do now that she doesn't need his love anymore. "It all still belongs to you," he sings. All the memories they shared are now in boxes collecting dust. Despite a protesting father, the boyfriend-in-question is planning a great escape in "Hey Baby." They go down to the strip where the man says it is getting hotter with her by his side. He also says he wants to make the moment last all night. She will always be "The Only One" there for him, through thick and thin, according to the next song. Despite being buried in bills and burdened by other troubles, she is always right there when he gets home and she helps him heal his wounds. Convincing is what the man needs in "Tell Me." Through all the fussing and fighting he forgets who he is and he wants her to tell him she is still in love with him. "I wake up and find you next to me, where I always hoped you'd be." "Simple Life" is a song about how easy life seemed to be not that long ago. You could run around and be carefree. There would be fights but you didn't have to worry about kids carrying a gun to school. "A simple life needs to be more than a faded memory." Now strip malls are taking over and it brings a tear to the man's eye.
