March 6, 2008 - Critically acclaimed country rocker Jack Ingram received a nomination for Top New Country Male from the Academy of Country Music earlier this week, when nominations were announced in Nashville. This is his first nomination after years of hard work, and makes it especially sweet to Ingram.

"Good things happen to those who wait....and drive around the country a few times playing every roadside honky tonk bar they can get into! It's an honor to be recognized for chasing dreams," says Ingram.

"I'm really happy to be nominated. Besides, I think I can take Luke and Jake on the street and if either of them win, I'll just take the trophy from them and they can just try to take it off my mantle!" jokes Ingram.

After a decade of critical acclaim, the Houston native's breakthrough album, This Is It, debuted at #4 on the Billboard Country Album Chart. He had four consecutive hit singles from the album, which made him Mediabased most-played new artist of 2006. His current single, "Maybe She'll Get Lonely" is currently in the Top 25 on Billboard and R&R and climbing.
